Case for Support

Veteran and
First Responder Programs

“I’ll tell every veteran this: ‘At one point you were magnificent! What if you could be magnificent again?’ ”

This quote is a testimonial excerpt from a special operations veteran who underwent successful MeRT™ treatment. His identity is anonymized as “BD” to protect his privacy.

His full testimonial can be found here

“BD” arrived at one of our clinics as many special operations veterans do, after muscling through years of mental torment.

Combat demanded that he develop for himself an impenetrable shield that enabled him to run into the planet’s most horrendous situations.

But that shield was not, after all, impenetrable.

Deeper and more insidious than the visible wounds our warriors carry home are the wounds we don’t see. Post-traumatic stress. Concussion. Traumatic Brain Injury.

“BD” is not alone in his experience.
Thousands of veterans and first responders suffer:

But what if...

You could help our warriors be magnificent again?

Together, we can.

At Just One Wave, it’s our reason for being.

The Mission

Ensure that mental health is personalized, universal, and accessible to all who seek it.

We are powering the compassionate deployment of the world’s best mental wellness and cognitive health technologies to those in need.

Our first technology deployment

Wave Neuroscience’s MeRT® technology
(Magnetic EEG-guided Resonance Therapy)

World-class neuroscience technologies coupled with proprietary data analysis and the world’s largest database of pre- and post-treatment EEGs

The MeRT® process

It starts with a 10-minute EEG to record and
measure brainwaves. The EEG reads, measures, and reveals precise brain health insights showing the brain’s unique strengths and opportunities.

Brainwave recording

Wave’s technology then analyzes the EEG data and derives deep insight into the individual’s current brain state. The analysis combines expertly-honed algorithms with years of historical data (the world’s largest pre and post-treatment EEG database).

Data analysis

MeRT® in-clinic care then modulates brain activity and improves brain performance, targeting specific areas of the brain and inducing changes in neuronal activity that can alleviate symptoms of a wide range of conditions, enhancing overall brain health.

Personalized Braincare™

Our focus is deploying digital mental health technology that is objective and quantifiable, with measurable results.

MeRT satisfies all of these criteria. The results speak for themselves.

MeRT treatment has resulted in vital improvements in a range of conditions affecting quality of life.

Veterans who have undergone treatment using MeRT personalized neuromodulation technology have shown vital improvements not only in their overall quality of life, motivation, and mood, but also in their capacity to focus, complete tasks, make productive decisions and even reduce cravings for alcohol and other substances.

Britt Slabinski

Retired US Navy SEAL, Command Master Chief, Medal of Honor Recipient

Britt served with US Navy SEAL Teams for 25 years, completing 15 combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. After countless blast injuries and concussions, he was diagnosed with multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries and PTSD. Prescribed pharmaceuticals failed to deliver healing, and Britt set out in search for the root causes of his pain. Hearing of his teammates’ success with Wave’s technology, he registered for treatment. After completing treatment, his sleep improved, the debilitating headaches subsided, and his overall well-being improved. Britt is now a champion for personalized Braincare™.

Dr. Matt Hickey

“The greatest challenge I experienced as the senior medical officer for two different Naval Special Warfare major commands, and what made me lose sleep at night was the inability to provide our special operators with an effective treatment for the anxiety and/or depression manifestations associated with post-traumatic stress disorder and/or traumatic brain injury. This technology has provided the most effective, least invasive and safest treatment modality currently available to improve the lives of our combat veterans.”

SEAL Team Command Surgeon

Together, we can expand access to world-class mental health technology to thousands needing treatment.

MeRT® is currently in phase II of an FDA grade clinical trial for the treatment of PTSD.

Your support will both expand existing access and further expedite completion of Phase II clinical work for PTSD, vastly accelerating automation and broad scale availability. Clinical trial completion may also allow for reimbursement for PTSD treatment by insurance providers.

You will immediately begin making veterans’ and first responders’ lives whole by improving their neurological and mental health even while the clinical trials are in process.

Q1 2025

Increased financial support will allow rapid expansion to more trial sites, expediting data collection.

Complete trial site expansion

Complete patient recruitment

Q2 2025

Funding will enable rapid screening and recruitment.

As funding helps cover costly data analysis, it enables more rapid submission to regulatory authorities.

Submit data to FDA

Q3 2025

FDA approval + expand patient access

Q1 2026

Once approved by the FDA, treatment can be reimbursed through Medicaid, the VA, and insurance, expanding access broadly to clinics and community providers where thousands can be served.

Funding goals for veteran and first responder programs

Benevolent funding for FDA clinical trial

Over $1.6 million has already been raised from philanthropic partners and trials are actively underway, with study locations in WA, TX, PA, CA and OH.

Through supporting the completion of academically rigorous clinical trials, your contribution to Just One Wave will accelerate FDA approval and expand the reach of demonstrated success to a population greatly in need of treatment.

Support for treatment through existing providers

You can provide immediate MeRT® treatment for veterans, first responders, and others in need through your gift to Just One Wave. Your contribution can provide treatment for multiple patients at existing providers, or even provide equipment to expand provider capacity. Our only limitations are the imagination and compassion we both bring to our partnership.

Just One Wave is reimagining and democratizing access to mental health technology, disrupting the old model of “surviving in it” with our model of “thriving out of it”.

We would be honored to have you join us.
